Making Career & College Opportunities More Accessible!

The Osseo-Fairchild Technical Education Center is making scheduling easier for students through our block class schedule!

By opening our lab during the same class period, students have the flexibility to choose from four different class options while still earning dual college credit through CVTC.

As seen in these photos, students are utilizing the Tech Center Lab for:

Industrial Electrical Principles
Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
2D AutoCAD
3D AutoCAD Inventor

This block scheduling model allows more students to access our Technical Education Center, explore different career pathways, and earn valuable college credit without having to choose between opportunities that would otherwise conflict on their schedules.

We are excited to continue finding innovative ways to Motivate, Educate, and Empower students for a successful future!

Students in Mrs. Schultz's Advanced English 10 class recently studied Ha Jin's short story "Children as Enemies." Instead of taking a test or writing an essay, they demonstrated their understanding by writing and performing their own skits—using props, costumes, and backgrounds.

The scenes explored children who want to change their names to distance themselves from their Chinese heritage and the family conflict those choices create. Writing and performing it required an understanding of the characters and the story's theme of generational and relational differences.

It's the kind of assignment students love in this class: creativity, collaboration, and laughter as they dig deep into a text. (Don't worry — they still write essays and take tests too!)

Great work, Advanced English 10!

Perhaps you haven't heard, but our 4th Graders recently traveled back in time to 1922 and arrived at The Valley of the Kings in Egypt just in time to unlock the secrets of King Tut's tomb!

They joined a team of archeologists at the famous dig site and uncovered artifacts from the Ancient Egyptians- diligently recording their findings in their notebooks.

Their mission led to some amazing inquiries and breathtaking moments! If you look closely, you'll see Mr. Zawacki marveling right alongside them.

Also, did you know our school recently invested in Virtual Reality headsets? 😉 We're already planning where we'll explore next- the world is truly at our learners' fingertips!

A big thank you to Mrs. Lyngen, our school librarian, for bringing this exciting technology to our schools. Thank you, Mrs. Lyngen, for continually finding great things to bring to our schools and our learners! 🧡🖤

🎺 CALLING ALL MUSICIANS! 🎺

Want to join the OFHS Pep Band for a game this year? We’d love to have you! 🧡🖤

With a small high school band—and many students also involved in athletics—we’re looking for community members, alumni, and former band members to help fill out our pep band and bring live music to more home games! 🎶

How it works:
🎵 Choose the games you'd like to play
🎵 Access our music and setlists
🎵 Sign up with your name and instrument
🎵 We’ll let you know one week before each game if the pep band is a GO!

No instrument? No problem! We may have one you can borrow.

We play approximately 20–30 minutes before home games at Ward Field and in the OFHS gym.
