Mrs. Simpson’s Advanced Anatomy & Physiology students took their final project to the next level this year! 🩺🔬 For their final, students were challenged to learn all about a surgery by reading a patient file, researching unfamiliar vocabulary and procedures, and even watching a live surgery video. Their final task? Correctly complete and narrate one of the surgeries themselves. The surgeries successfully completed included: • Lower Section Caesarean due to Preeclampsia (28 weeks) • Mohs Surgery for Basal Cell Carcinoma with a Paramedial Forehead Flap Reconstruction • Open Appendectomy due to Acute Appendicitis with Appendiceal Myxoglobulosis Mrs. Simpson shared: “This may be one of my favorite highlights of all time in my teaching career. My heart is full today.” We are incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication from both these students and Mrs. Simpson! 👏 #ThunderProud

Thank you to Mayor Pettis for taking time out of your day to speak with our American Civics classes!

🌟 NHS Senior Spotlight: Colton Rinka 🌟

Our National Honor Society seniors continue to make a positive impact through service projects that reflect leadership, initiative, and care for their community. 💙

🛠️ NHS Senior Spotlight: Colton Rinka

📘 Years in NHS: 2 years

🌱 Service Projects:
For his first project, Colton helped a resident in Osseo by mowing, weed whacking, and weeding their property. For his second project, he reached out to several local businesses to offer assistance and connected with Nelson’s Collision Center to lend a helping hand.

💬 Why These Projects Matter:
Colton shared that his background in lawn care maintenance inspired him to help improve the appearance of the community while doing something he genuinely enjoys. He also wanted to support local businesses because he believes it helps create a stronger image for both the school and community.

We’re proud of Colton for stepping up, giving back, and using his skills to make a difference right here in our community. Thank you for your dedication to service, leadership, and community pride! 👏🌟
