Our dual credit UW–Oshkosh students took part in UW–Madison’s Great World Texts Student Symposium this week by diving into the novel Death of the Author in a way that went far beyond the classroom. They had the chance to meet and engage with the author, share their own projects, and see how students from across the state interpreted the same text in completely different ways.

As always, our students showed up—thoughtful, insightful, and seriously impressive.

And a special shout-out to Sera, who took the stage and presented The Grass is Purpler in Lagos to a crowd of 750 students. Incredible!

O-F seniors in our new CVTC Applied Communications dual-credit course are picking up some real-world skills—like learning how to tie a tie with the help of substitute teacher Mr. Schultz!

This course goes beyond the basics, allowing students to explore workplace expectations like social media use, professional appearance, and etiquette. By the end, they’ll have updated resumes, strong cover letters, and the confidence to walk into interviews ready to impress.

Annual Wellness Extravaganza, hosted by Jackson County Behavioral Health and Public Health

This free community event is open to all Jackson County residents and will take place on Wednesday, May 13th from 4:30–7:30 p.m. at the Milt Lunda Memorial Ice Arena in Black River Falls.

I plan to major in Electrical Engineering.

🌟 Favorite Subject:
Math and Science — math has always come easy to me, and I enjoy working through problems and watching everything click.

🌟 Favorite Teacher:
I’ve had so many teachers who have helped me over the years that I can’t pick just one. I’m grateful for all the staff and the connections I’ve built with them beyond the classroom.

🌟 Best Memory:
Playing sports year-round with my friends and building connections with people I wouldn’t normally get to know. Another great memory was coaching Mr. Mueller and helping him get two dunks!

🌟 Activities:
Football, Basketball, Baseball, FFA, NHS, Above and Beyond, Book Club, and Athletic Committee

🌟 What I’ll Miss Most:
Being able to spend 8+ hours a day with all of my friends.
