🏹🎯 Thunder Archery Tournament Recap 🎯🏹

From Archery Coach, Justin Gleiter:

The Archery Club co-hosted its very first tournament with Eleva-Strum this past Saturday, and it was a great success! The event ran smoothly, and we cannot thank our archers and parents enough for helping make the tournament possible.

A special thank you also goes out to the community supporters who came out to cheer on our archers and see what the Archery Club is all about including Lori & Mark Whelan, Gage Bertrang, and Chase Wampole, among many others.

Our archers had an impressive weekend, recording 5 personal bests in Bullseye and 4 personal bests in 3D, and bringing home another individual medal!

### 🎯 Bullseye Highlights

🏅 Loren Hofer led the team with a personal best score of 271, earning 3rd place in the Middle School Boys division. This is Loren’s second individual medal this season, and he becomes the 5th archer on the team to shoot over 270/300 this year.

• Evelyn Schaal– 269, placing 7th among Middle School girls
• Casey Bauer – 258 (PR), improving his best by 2 points
• Kole Bratina– 258
• Ella Rahl – 255, placing 4th among 11th grade girls
• Jaelynn Huiras – 249 (PR), improving by 8 points and placing 3rd among 10th grade girls
• Adalena Foris– 243, 9th in grade
• Thomas Michels – 243, 9th in grade
• Wyatt Holubar – 241 (PR), 9th among 10th grade boys
• Gabe Konop – 214 (PR) in just his second tournament ever

Honorable Mentions:
Sara Gerike – 231
Kayden Schaal – 229
Emma Gleiter – 200

### 🏹 3D Discipline Highlights

Two archers tried the 3D discipline for the first time this weekend: Evelyn Schaal and Jaelynn Huiras.

The top four shooters all set personal records, which is an impressive accomplishment in the more challenging 3D discipline.

• Loren Hofer– 263 (PR), improving by 8 points
• Casey Bauer – 260 (PR), improving by 6 points
• Jaelynn Huiras – 232 (PR) in her first 3D shoot
• Evelyn Schaal – 225 (PR) in her first 3D shoot
• Sara Gerike – 218

⚡🔧 **Alumni in Action!** 🔧⚡

O-F alum Paige Gleiter, a recent graduate of the Advanced Welding Institute (AWI) in Eagle River, WI, recently returned to share her educational journey with our current welding students.

Paige talked about what she did in high school to prepare for a welding career and shared about her experiences at AWI. She also brought along some of her welding tests to show students the type of work and skills required in the field.

Students even had the opportunity to see hands-on demonstrations of the T.I.G. welding process and practice the skill with Paige’s guidance!

Thank you, Paige, for sharing your time, talent, and valuable advice with our students. Opportunities like this help inspire the next generation of skilled trades professionals.

🎓🔎 Exploring Future Career Paths!

On Tuesday, March 10, our junior class had the opportunity to visit CVTC and learn more about the many career programs available to them after high school.

Students toured several program areas including healthcare, business, transportation, electrical, engineering, human services, criminal justice, and emergency medicine. It was a great chance for students to see hands-on learning environments and start thinking about possible career paths.

As we continue encouraging our juniors to explore all of their options after high school, we thank CVTC for providing these valuable opportunities for our students!

🌟🔭 **Exploring the Night Sky… During the School Day!** 🔭🌟

Our 4K students recently had the chance to step inside the **Star Lab**, a portable inflatable planetarium that creates an immersive 360-degree view of the night sky. It’s an amazing way for students to explore astronomy right here at school!

Thanks to our CESA for allowing us to check out the Star Lab, and a special thank you to our 4th grade teacher, Mrs. P., who volunteers her time to lead our classes on a journey through the stars. Our students have a blast discovering constellations and learning about the sky above us. ✨

📣 Think this looks like fun? You can experience it too!

The Star Lab (and Mrs. P.)*will be ready for families at Family Night tomorrow, March 11 from 4:00–5:30 PM.

We hope to see you there for an evening of learning and fun!
