Swimming Lessons Update!! As we kick off our summer swimming lessons, our number one priority is ensuring the safety and accountability of every single student. To help us keep track of all children safely, we are implementing the following guidelines for drop-offs and scheduling: 📍 Swimming Lesson Drop-Offs Drop-Off Location & Time: ALL STUDENTS attending swimming lessons must be dropped off at the school building by 8:00 AM. Even if you have made prior arrangements—they must now check in at the school to participate in swimming lessons. Why this matters: Coordinating students who are dropped off randomly at the park or pool makes it incredibly difficult to ensure everyone is accounted for. For your child's safety, please use the school drop-off. Parent Attendance: You are more than welcome to accompany your child to the park and/or take them home once their specific swimming lesson is complete! Please make sure you check in with a staff member if you choose to do this. Lesson Schedules: All individual lesson times are posted just inside the school's front doors, immediately to the left. For quick reference, the general group times are: 8:30-9:15 AM – Green Group 9:30-10:15 AM – Yellow Group 10:30-11:15 AM – Blue Group 11:30-12:15 AM – Purple Group 💪 Strength & Conditioning Reminder Because students will be at the park from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM (and some until 12:30 PM), the school will not be able to coordinate transportation or transitions to Strength & Conditioning sessions. Parents will need to manage individual schedules if their child is participating in both programs. ⚠️ A Note on Safety: We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience these scheduling constraints may cause. However, to ensure we can strictly account for every student in our care, this is the most secure way to coordinate our swimming program. 📍 July 20 – Foster Blueberry Farm (4K–Grade 1) – FREE
📍 July 22 – Foster Blueberry Farm (Grades 2–5) – FREE
📍 July 24 – Outlaw Farms (9:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m.) – $5

🏀 Brian Butch Basketball Camp
If your child is attending both summer school and the Brian Butch Basketball Camp, we'll safely walk them to and from the camp during the day. (Please note: this camp is not affiliated with our summer school program.)

We are proud to recognize Drew Hanson for representing Osseo-Fairchild at Badger Boys State this summer!

Badger Boys State is a prestigious leadership program that helps prepare Wisconsin's future leaders by giving students a hands-on opportunity to learn how local, county, and state government works. During the week-long experience, participants create and operate their own city, county, and state governments while developing leadership, teamwork, and civic engagement skills.

🦁🌿 Safari Adventure was in full swing last week for our K-1 Enrichment group! 🌿🦒

Our young explorers put their creativity to work by making their own safari animals, then headed outside to discover the perfect habitats for them. 🐘🦓🐒💚

🤖☀️ Summer learning is in full swing in Ms. Farber’s classroom! Our 2nd & 3rd graders put their coding skills to the test by programming Finch robots to navigate through mazes. Meanwhile, our 4th & 5th graders explored engineering by learning about trebuchets and building their own using VEX kits. Their creations launched projectiles up to 13 feet! 💡🚀 #ThunderProud

🎉 Congratulations to Avery James and Leah Klevgaard for proudly representing Osseo-Fairchild at Badger Girls State! During this week-long leadership and government program, Avery and Leah gained firsthand experience in how government works by campaigning for office, debating issues, and serving in mock local and county governments. 🏛️ Avery was elected as Publicity Agent for the City of Butternut and Register of Deeds for Conradt County. She also served on the Health and Service Commission. 🏛️ Leah was elected as both Publicity Agent and Treasurer for the City of Pine and was appointed to the Finance Commission. Her city also celebrated victories in the Penny Wars and City Expo competitions! ❤️ Both students participated in the Service to Veterans interest group, creating handmade items that will be sent to military members serving overseas. Way to represent OFSD with pride! 🧡 #ThunderProud #FutureLeaders

One of the many things that makes our school district special is the connection between students of all ages. Through our Teacher Assistant (T.A.) Program, high school students are able to work in an elementary classroom, building relationships, supporting teachers, and gaining valuable experience working with younger learners.

The impact goes far beyond helping in the classroom. Strong bonds are formed, positive role models emerge, and our younger students gain mentors they look up to.

This photo captures that connection! First grader Piper was excited to attend our high school musical and support Mailah, who served as a T.A. in her classroom and was a lead in the production.

Thank you to all of our Teacher Assistants for the incredible difference you made in our elementary classrooms. We are proud of the leadership, kindness, and positive example you provide for our youngest Thunder students.
